Buckinghamshire County Council Local Emergency Support:
Support offered depends on crisis / emergency. Applicant may be sign posted to an appropriate charity / support network / recycling network. Assistance in claiming any eligible benefits or provision of a goods / items.
(The Local Emergency Support Team will not utilise the Council’s Local Emergency Support resources where alternative provision is available. Applicants will be sign posted to the alternative provision).
The Local Emergency Support Team will aim to contact all applicants who call between 9am – 1pm on that same day. Contacts made after 1pm will be risk assessed and those at most risk will be prioritised. Lower risk cases will be contacted the following working day.

Milton Keynes Council Applicants will be seen by a member of staff or an approved advisor. Awards will normally be in goods, services or vouchers. Cash will not normally be paid and will be a last resort. No loans will be made.

Applicants will be encouraged to engage with a support service.

Applicants will be given details of other services that may provide financial support. As part of the process they will be considered for a Discretionary Housing Payment (if appropriate)

There will be no statutory right to appeal, but we will review decisions.

Applicants can only make one application in any 6 month period.
