Support will normally be via food parcel or payment direct to a supplier for other items.

There will be 2 types of award, Home Grant award and an Urgent needs award.

The call centre will be open Monday – Friday 8am – 8pm.

Wirral Metropolitan Borough Council Further Information on the Wirral Local Welfare Assistance Scheme www.wirral.gov.uk/lwa for on-line applications to Local Welfare Assistance. This address is not yet operational.
If on line is not possible the applicant can be advised to phone the call centre on 606 2233 during normal office hours and an operator will complete the form on their behalf.

    This is @ complete outrage I have been on sanctions since ilost my job in november I lost my home registered homeless. Got myself and two kids a new home asked for help just with removal van to collect my things from my home of 13 yrs REFUSED. So lost my posessions then had to apply for large items cooker fridge. Washer. Bed bedding. REFUSED agaain. Asked careline social services for help first then you I suggest you train your staff my mp will be hearing about this its an out rage if I was a criminal just out of jail then fine but a woman with 2 kids refused I don’t know how you sleep at night ile tell you how I sleep tho on a matress on the floor with the two kids thanks to peoplw like you your scum of the earth the lot of you.
